Boxers throughout the city are training for the upcoming Golden Gloves District Tournament in Fort Worth, Texas. Pictured left to right are J. D. DuPree and J. E. Harris. They are training together as members of the Young Men's Christian Association (Y.M.C.A.) boxing team. DuPree is a 240-pound Convair employee. He is wearing a shorts and boxing gloves. Harris is a 187-pound employee of Hobbs Trailers. He is dressed in sweat pants and boxing gloves. Despite training together for the novice class, DuPree and Harris may be slugging it out in the Heavyweight class during the district tournament. The photograph was published in the Star-Telegram evening edition January 9, 1945.
