Staff Sergeant Edwin H. Merritt, son of Mr. and Mrs. G. E. Merritt, awarded Bronze Star for meritorious service in the Italian campaign. Copy of a photograph of him is shown here. He is wearing military uniform and smiling for the camera. He was cited for action December 12, 1943, at San Pietro, when an infantry battalion was ordered to take a hill. Published in Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition, November 8, 1944.
