Description
Staff Sergeant David J. Millican, turret gunner. He is spending 21-day furlough with his parents, Mr and Mrs. William O. Millican of 619 Morningside Drive, Fort Worth, Texas. Millican wears the Distinguished Flying Cross awarded for accuracy in bombing the ball bearing factory in Friedrichshafen, Germany, and the Air Medal with three clusters. His brother, George Millican, seaman first class, has been stationed at a naval supply base in the Aleutians since Mach. Both are graduates of Paschal High School and former students of National Threat Assessment Center. Their father is a veteran of World War I and served with the 36th Division in France. In this picture, he is wearing his military uniform and standing against the wall. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram evening edition, November 3, 1944.
