Description
First Lieutenant (Lt.) A. D. Roberts visiting his parents, Mr. and Mrs. E. S. Roberts at 1008 E. Jefferson Avenue, Fort Worth, Texas. He is shown sitting on a couch and wearing his military uniform. He is a graduate from Polytechnic High School. He spent six months behind enemy lines after his B-17 was shot down over Holland on March 6. Behind his left lapel Roberts wears a silver winged boot, insignia of the "Late Arrivals Club." Official decorations worn by First Lieutenant Roberts are the Purple Heart and the Air Medal, awarded for six missions. Published in Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition, November 5, 1944.
