Staff Sergeant (Staff Sgt.) Burnett C. King, 21, is home visiting his parents after completing 50 missions in the European Theater of Operations (ETO). He was the nose gunner on the "Knockout," a B-24 Liberator of the 15th Air Force. and participated in action over Munich, Ploesti oil fields, Austria, Germany and Czechoslovakia. He is shown standing against a bare wall, facing front, wearing his military uniform and smiling for the camera. Sergeant King is a Polytechnic High School graduate and former carrier salesman for the Star-Telegram. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. J. F. King. of 1624 E. Tucker. Published in The Fort Worth Star-Telegram evening edition, September 27, 1944.
