Description
This is a portrait of Staff Sergeant Arthur Allen Daniels of Waelder, Texas, son of Mr. and Mrs. T. B. Daniels and husband of the former Miss Ruby Fae Davenport. He has been awarded the silver star for gallantry in action in Italy during the crossing of the Rapido River by the 36th division. He also has the Purple Heart for leg wounds received in the fighting near Rome. He continued in action until carried off the field. He returned to combat duty in northern Italy. Published in Fort Worth Star-Telegram, morning edition, September 11, 1944.
