Lieutenant (junior grade) Charles E. Sanderson, 25, who just returned from 20 months duty as executive officer on a submarine chaser in the Southwest Pacific, is spending a 23-day leave with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. E.J. Sanderson of 5006 E. Lancaster. His wife, the former Miss Helen Wooten of Columbus, also is visiting here. Sanderson received his BBA degree from the University of Texas in June, 1942, and was commissioned a few months later at Northwestern University, Chicago. He wears two battle stars on his Asiatic-Pacific campaign ribbons. Sanderson is shown wearing his military uniform. Published Fort Worth Star-Telegram Evening Edition September 18, 1944.
