    Description

    David Douglas Gathings, 61 year old Johnson County politician, defeated the incumbent 99th District State Representative, Herbert F. Brawner, Joshua Farmer, by one vote. Mr. Gathings is sitting up on a sofa, with one hand touching his knee, and the other holding a handkerchief. He is wearing trousers, shirt and tie. There is a shelve of books behind him. He is nephew of two former state senators, James De Mumber and Doctor (Dr.) A. M. Douglas. Published in The Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition, September 8, 1944.
