    "Voters crowded to the polls in numbers early for Saturday's local option election, in contrast to the light vote at the first primary. Top left, Mrs. Willie Ramsey, 1000 Monroe, was an early voter. Top right, one of the first to ballot at Precinct 4, Central Fire Station, was Joe M. Matthews, 619 Texas. Bottom, typical morning crowd at Central Fire Station." Published Star-Telegram Eve. Aug. 5, 1944. Mr. Matthew is sitting at a table as he casts his ballot. He is wearing a dress shirt with a necktie and a tie bar, and is wearing eyeglasses. He also has a tobacco pouch sticking out of his shirt pocket.
