Description
"Voters crowded to the polls in numbers early for Saturday's local option election, in contrast to the light vote at the first primary. Top left, Mrs. Willie Ramsey, 1000 Monroe, was an early voter. Top right, one of the first to ballot at Precinct 4, Central Fire Station, was Joe M. Matthews, 619 Texas. Bottom, typical morning crowd at Central Fire Station." Published Star-Telegram Eve. Aug. 5, 1944. Mrs. Willie Ramsey is sitting at a table, filling out her card. She is wearing a patterned dress with a costume jewelry brooch, eyeglasses, a wrist watch, a ring on her left hand, and a handbag tucked under her left arm. She is holding two pencils and is marking a page. There is a woman standing behind her wearing a light blouse, a printed skirt, and patent leather pumps. A man's fedora hat is sitting on a sill in front of an open window.
