    Description

    Lieutenant Melvin E. Livesay is a chaplain in the United States Army. He entered the service in April of 1943, and has spent the last three months recovering in a California hospital. Lieutenant Livesay is receiving a medical discharge and will also be awarded the Purple Heart. Lieutenant Livesay will return to civilian status and the Baptist pulpit. Before entering the service, he was the pastor at Azle Avenue Baptist Church. Lieutenant Livesay is shown standing in front of a wall, dressed in his military uniform.
