Description
Lieutenant Robert M. Hankins, commander of the newly organized 105th Army Airways Communications Squadron (AACS). His office is responsible for maintaining flying safety control for all military planes and many commercial planes using Southwestern air route. Lieutenant Hankins succeeded Major M. E. Wilkins, now on overseas duty. Hankins attended Southern Methodist University three years and was employed by a Dallas paint concern before entering the service in October 1942. Since being commissioned in July 1943, he has served at Brownsville, Texas as regional security and intelligence officer for the 3d region AACS. Hankins is in uniform, standing by a blank wall and staring to the left. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition, July 7, 1944.
