    Description

    The Fort Worth, Texas Red Cross Blood Donor mobile unit launched a series of out-of-town stands, to include Decatur, Texas using the First United Methodist Church in Decatur as the headquarters. Left to right, Mrs. T. S. McCaleb, nurses' aide, Mrs. Florence Williams, nurse, E. R. Williams, Red Cross chapter chairman, Doctor L. P. Higgins, blood donor chairman, and Mrs. C. P. Dodson, nurses' aide and wife of Decatur's mayor. Mr. Williams and Doctor Higgins are the first two donors shown sitting on exam tables as they prepare to donate blood. The nurse and nurses' aides are wearing their uniforms. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition, April 9, 1944.
