Description
The Fort Worth, Texas Red Cross Blood Donor mobile unit launched a series of out-of-town stands, to include Decatur, Texas using the First United Methodist Church in Decatur as the headquarters. Mrs. Sam Palmer, nurses' aide and mother of Major Sam Palmer, war ace, standing, talks with Mrs. Charles A. Cates. Mrs. Cates is sitting at a table. Her husband, Captain Cates is a Japanese prisoner of war. On the table are flowers, a cup and saucer, and a plate of cookies. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition, April 9, 1944.
