    Description

    Lieutenant junior grade Clyde Slay Junior, left, and Lieutenant junior grade Jay P. Lowery, two members of the original Hell Divers Squadron recruited in Fort Worth, Texas, in 1942. They are standing in front of a blank wall, both wearing military uniforms. Slay won the Distinguished Flying Cross and holds an Air Medal. Both men are graduates of Paschal High School. Lowery attended the University of Texas and Texas Wesleyan College.
