    Description

    Firemen from the Fort Worth Army Air Field are working to extinguish the burning wreckage of a B-17 Flying Fortress. The plane crashed into an ice-covered pasture at White Settlement Road and Grant's Lane at 10:30 Thursday morning. The plane's motor and wing section were ablaze prior to impact. Ten lives were lost in the crash and bodies of victims were removed. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram evening edition, January 13, 1944.
