Description
The crash of two B-24 Liberator bombers near Birdville in which Lieutenant Leon and six others were lost brought General Alberto Salinas Carranza, chief of Mexico's Civil Aeronautics Department, flying to Fort Worth from Mexico City, to comfort his daughter, the young American flier's bride of a month. General Salinas is wearing a suit and standing in front of a car. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition, September 4, 1943.
