Description
Smoke from burning wreckage of one of two B-24 Liberator bombers which collided in midair over Birdville and crashed to earth about two miles northeast. This plane broke in two and dropped into a brush-filled creek bed. The other dived into a wheat field a mile away. There is a crowd of people standing in a field, most of them looking at smoke billowing in the background. There is also an ambulance in the foreground. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram evening edition, September 3, 1943.
