Eyewitnesses to the midair collision of two b-24 bombers over Birdville. In this picture are Mrs. R. D. Lucas and her son, Melvin, 17, of Layton Avenue in Haltom City. The two of them are standing in the middle of a field. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram evening edition, September 3, 1943.
