Lieutenant John L. Van Dyke is enjoying meeting his five-month-old son, John Lee Junior for the first time. Lieutenant Van Dyke is a bombardier in the United States Army Air Corps. He has been stationed in Hawaii since October. While in the Pacific Theater, he received the Air Medal and Oak Leaf Cluster. The lieutenant is a former composing room employee of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. He is dressed in his military uniform. John Junior is in his father's arms, dressed in a jumper.
