Description

The 100 members of Fort Worth's 5th Battalion of Texas Guardettes drilled in their new Marine blue uniforms. Members of the battalion's staff are (front row, left to right) Jimmie Myer and Inez Thompson and (back row) Gladis Foote, Helen Murphy and Nellie Sheeran. The Guardettes are shown standing in front of a wall, wearing their new uniforms. Their uniforms comprise of a dark skirt and jacket with a thick belt around the waist. Major Myer is the commanding officer and Captain Thompson is adjutant. Lieutenant Foote is an intelligence officer. Lieutenant Murphy is the plans and training officer. Lieutenant Sheeran is the supply and publicity officer.
