Description

E. E. Bewley (left) writes a check for a $25,000 war bond at a preview of the Japanese two-man submarine February 22 at the Quartermaster Deport. J. Lewell Lafferty, county war bond chairman, looks on. Both men are dressed in dark, striped suits with matching hats. Mr. Lafferty appears to be holding on to the railing of a step-ladder in front of him and Mr. Bewley. Mr. Bewley uses one of the steps to place his right foot on and writes the check on his knee. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram evening edition, February 23, 1943.
