Winners of the 1943 Golden Gloves State Tournament will advance to the Tournament of Champions in Chicago, Illinois. Private First Class Emil Zoltak is the runner-up of the middleweight class. The winner, Corporal Harry Flowers, is unable to travel to the national tournament due to military service. Zoltak will advance in his place. Zoltak is a native of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He is serving in Texas with the military. He is pictured at the Young Men's Christian Association following a workout. He is wearing athletic shorts and has a towel around his neck.
