Description

The 1943 Golden Gloves State Tournament is being held at Will Rogers Memorial Coliseum in Fort Worth, Texas. Winners of the tournament will advance to the Tournament of Champions in Chicago, Illinois. Representing the state of Texas in the bantamweight class is Private Frankie Montoya. He is serving with the military at Fort Bliss, near El Paso, Texas. Montoya is shown standing against a wall, dressed in a suit and a satin jacket.
