The 1943 Golden Gloves State Tournament is being held at Will Rogers Memorial Coliseum in Fort Worth, Texas. Competing in the tournament is Frankie Montoya, a solider stationed at Fort Bliss in El Paso, Texas. Montoya was the winner of the bantamweight crown. He will advance to the Tournament of Champions in Chicago, Illinois. He is shown standing in the boxing ring, wearing athletic shorts and boxing gloves. He has a towel draped over his chest and a coat over his shoulders.
