    The 1943 Golden Gloves State Tournament is being held at Will Rogers Memorial Coliseum in Fort Worth, Texas. Squaring off in the ring, left to right, are Paul Grayson and Private Charles Core. Grayson is representing Temple, Texas. He is shown connecting with a left to his opponent's jaw. Core is a soldier stationed at Camp Bowie in Brownwood, Texas. Core went on to win the decision. In the background is part of the audience at the event.
