Description

Boxers in the Fort Worth, Texas, area are preparing for the 1943 Golden Gloves District Tournament. The competition will be held at Will Rogers Memorial Coliseum. Representing the Texas Christian University Horned Frogs, left to right, are Carroll Grafa, Ray Wood, John "Punkin" Smith, Pete Stout, and Aaron Barker. Grafa is a lightweight and Wood is a middleweight. The other three fighters are heavyweights. Smith is looking to build on a solid 1942 showing. Stout is a freshman football star from Throckmorton, Texas. Barker is the campus heavyweight champ.
