Golda Ruth Phillips to join Women Accepted for Volunteer Emergency Services (W. A. V. E. S.). Miss Phillips is shown sitting at a desk and grading her student's paper as she smiles. She is wearing a wide-lapel jacket with a knitted shirt underneath. She is to be the first female member of Fort Worth public school's teaching staff to enter military services.
