Description
The Block Mothers is a local organization with 10,000 members. They are putting plans into motion to organize their neighborhoods before additional rationing programs go into effect. The first step of the plan involved electing colonels to lead the chapter. Standing against a wall, left to right, are Mrs. C. H. Wimberly, Mrs. E. E. Aldridge, and Mrs. Newton Wallace. Mrs. Wimberly is a member of the Woman's Club and the First Methodist Church. She is wearing a hat, dress, and a striped coat. Mrs. Aldridge is colonel for the McLean Carroll, Carlson and Clayton area. She is wearing a hat and a dress with a frilly collar. Mrs. Wallace is colonel for a section covering eleven schools. She is dressed in a hat and a fur coat.
