Description
The Block Mothers is a local organization with 10,000 members. They are putting plans into motion to organize their neighborhoods before additional rationing programs go into effect. The first step of the plan involved electing colonels to lead the chapter. Standing against a wall, left to right, are Mrs. L. N. Million, Mrs. H. O. Childress, and Mrs. Virgil Aston. Mrs. Million is a colonel on the North Side and a member of the Parent-Teacher-Association (P. T. A.). She is dressed in a hat, blazer, skirt, and a fur shawl. Mrs. Childress is a member of the Meadowbrook P. T. A. and a former organist at Polytechnic Methodist Church. She is wearing hat, dress and a fur shawl. Mrs. Aston is a Prairie North Side colonel and president of the San Rosen P. T. A. She is dressed in a hat and a coat.
