Description

Mrs. C. M. Anding and Mrs. Ben A. Ellis helping in scrap rubber drive being led by President Roosevelt. "Mrs. C. M. Anding and Mrs. Ben A. Ellis, who co-operated in sponsoring a scrap rubber drive Wednesday at the Haltom Theater by admitting children who brought a piece of rubber and 1 cent. Mrs. Ellis, of Weaver Street, is president of the B-H Club, which sponsored the drive in collaboration with Mrs. Anding and her husband, managers of the theater." Mrs. Anding and Mrs. Ellis are both standing on either side of a pile of rubber scraps. Mrs. Ellis is looking into the distance with a tight smile, while Mrs. Anding is smiling and looking at Mrs. Ellis. They appear to be at a theater, perhaps the Haltom Theater. Behind Mrs. Anding is a sign for admission along with prices. Behind Mrs. Ellis is a painted mural advertising the "Dallas Corsicana House."
