Description
Miss Dorothy Bradley, stenographer, shown with group of rubber mats to be donated to the scrap rubber drive being driven by President Roosevelt. "Into bomber tires will go these heavy rubber floor mats which until Tuesday graced a suite of offices in the Trinity Building. Miss Dorothy Bradley, stenographer, of 3808 Potomac Street, smiles her approval of donating the 18-pound rubber mats to Uncle Sam's scrap rubber drive and believes employees can walk on some other kind of mats for the duration. It was estimated each mat contains enough pure rubber to manufacture three average size tires. The Tuesday donation included 21 such mats." Miss Bradley is crouching among a pile of rubber mats, each of which is tied neatly with string.
