U. S. Navy and Coast Guard. Mass induction. Left to right, Doctor J. Frank Norris of the First Baptist Church; Reverend Chas. W. Smid, Denton, Texas; Reverend R. A. Pieper, rector Hold Cross Hall, Saint Edwards University, Austin, Texas; Monsignor J. G. O'Donohoe, Reverend Benedict Borgerding, Reverend Francis G. Meisch, and Reverend Sebastian Rubi, Wichita Falls, Texas. The mass induction ceremony was part of the "Avengers of Pearl Harbor" event held at Burnett Park in Fort Worth, Texas. Doctor Norris appears to the left of the photograph wearing a white suit with a white undershirt, dark tie, and dark shoes. He is standing with his hands behind his back looking down and to the left of the camera. To his left is Reverend Smid. He is wearing a dark suit with a white clerical collar. Next is Monsignor O'Donohoe, who is wearing a dark suit with a white clerical collar. He is holding a tan hat with his arms crossed in front of him, and he is facing towards the camera. To Monsignor O'Donohoe's left is Reverend Borgerding. He is wearing a dark suit with a white clerical collar. He is facing to the left of the camera. To his left is Reverend Meisch. He is wearing a dark suit, with a white handkerchief in his left breast pocket, and a white clerical collar. His hands are behind his back and he is facing the camera with a displeased expression on his face. Behind Reverend Meisch is Reverend Rubi. He has his arms in front of him and is holding a dark hat. He is wearing a dark suit with a white clerical collar, and sunglasses. He is smiling and facing to the left of the camera. In the background is a crowd of people behind the stage that they are standing on, and a clock that shows the time as 1:26 PM. The stage they are standing on appears to be metal and from the Hobbs Company. Behind them is a bench to sit on. On the far left of the photo is a hand holding a piece of paper.
