    Description

"William Edward Gove, 14, right, shown with Sheriff A. B. Carter, wanted to "join the army in Texas", and he was well equipped for it when he arrived here this week. He ran away from his San Francisco home Monday with his bow and arrows and his father's gun and pistol, which the officer is holding. He was arrested Saturday after trying to sell a deputy sheriff the bow and is being held for his parents". Sheriff Carter is in the center-left of the photograph. He is wearing a black suit, with a white undershirt and black tie, and a hat. He is holding a pistol in his right hand, and a rifle in his left hand. Underneath his right arm appears to be a carrying case for the rifle. He is facing to the right of the camera. Mr. Gove is standing in the center-right portion of the photograph. He is wearing grey slacks, a black belt, and a white button up shirt with the sleeves rolled up. He is holding a bow and arrow in the ready position, and appears to have extra arrows in his right hand. The bow and arrow are facing to the right of the camera, and so is Mr. Gove. There is a white brick wall in the background.
