Description
Miss Katherine Chilcoat, 18, shown with scrap rubber gathered during the scrap rubber campaign. "Miss Katherine Chilcoat, 18, found time to stage a rubber salvage campaign of her own while she temporarily was operating her father's filling station at 2919 East Rosedale. She found time to solicit approximately 20,000 pounds of scrap." Miss Chilcoat is looking off into the distance with exhilaration, as she is standing in a pile of tires that come up to her knees. Behind her stand two gas pumps, one for Metro and one for Mobilgas. A Firestone sign is hanging on a column of the service station.
