Description

First Day cover for the Kentucky Sesquicentennial stamp. Produced by the Fleetwood Cover Service and designed by L. W. Staehle, winner of several philatelic prizes. The cachet features a modified version of the Kentucky State Seal. It preserves the drawing of two men shaking hands, but changes the location of the seal's phrase" United we stand, divided we fall." Two United States flags flank the cachet. Below the left flag is the date 1792 and 1942 under the right flag. At the bottom of the image is the phrase "150th Anniversary of Kentucky Statehood."
