Description
Second deep discovery within the past week for the Continental Oil Company in Montague County is it's number 1 Penn, block 59, A. E. Topper survey, opening the first Viola, Upper Ordovician pool, in North Texas. Jack Mercer, left, and G. Frank splicing a line. Mr. Mercer and Mr. Frank are kneeling down to cut a thick wire cable. There is a large sledge hammer laying next to the cable. Both men are wearing hats and gloves.
