Description
Early development for the new Taylor County pool two and one-half miles west of Merkel has been assured through ongoing operations. On site is Joe Downey, a driller on the Fain & McGaha No. 1 Tarpley. He is wearing a leather jacket over shirt and trousers, and a hat. He wears eye glasses and has a cigarette in his mouth. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition, March 15, 1942.
