Description
Early development for the new Taylor County pool two and one-half miles west of Merkel has been assured through these operations. Pits were being dug for the W. H. Hammon No. 1 Dosher Neblett, south offset to the discovery. Shown here is a group, back row, left to right, W. J. Giles, Jack Camp and J. F. Pritchett ; front row: Jessie King and Ed Hightower. Mr. King and Mr. Hightower are standing in a ditch holding shovels while the rest of the men sit behind them on the edge of the ditch. A large piece of machinery is behind them.
