    Description

The second Brewer Murder Trial is underway at the Tarrant County Courthouse, more than a year after the incident. Earl T. Brewer, forty-two, is on trial for murdering his son-in-law H. Glen Cox at an east-side apartment on January 10, 1941. Mr. Brewer's fourteen year old daughter eloped with the victim in Fort Worth, Texas. The slaying followed the first meeting between Mr. Brewer and Mr. Cox, after the marriage. The Brewers and the Cox Family live on neighboring farms in Fannin County, Texas. In the courthouse are relatives of H. Glen Cox, the murder victim. They are, left to right David Cox, T. M. Cox, Tinsley Cox, Elmer Lewis Cox, and Lila Cox. David, seventeen, is a brother. He is wearing a dress shirt, pinstripe blazer and trousers. T. M., sixty-four, is the father. He is dressed in a three piece suit with a hat on his lap. Tinsley, thirty-seven, is another brother of the victim. He is holding his hat and dressed in a suit with a sports coat. Elmer is a thirty year old brother of H. Glen. He is dressed in a double breasted suit. Lila, fifteen, is the victims sister. She is wearing a dress with a plaid coat.
