Description
The second Brewer Murder Trial is underway at the Tarrant County Courthouse, more than a year after the incident. Earl T. Brewer, forty-two, is on trial for murdering his son-in-law H. Glen Cox at an east-side apartment on January 10, 1941. Mr. Brewer's fourteen year old daughter eloped with the victim in Fort Worth, Texas. The slaying followed the first meeting between Mr. Brewer and Mr. Cox, after the marriage. The Brewers and the Cox Family live on neighboring farms in Fannin County, Texas. Attending the trial are Melva Turner Brewer and husband Joe Earl Brewer. Joe, eighteen, is the son of the defendant, Earl T. Brewer. He is dressed in a suit. Melva, the young bride, is wearing a button-up blouse, skirt, and a coat.
