Description
The second Brewer Murder Trial is underway at the Tarrant County Courthouse, more than a year after the incident. Earl T. Brewer, forty-two, is on trial for murdering his son-in-law H. Glen Cox at an east-side apartment on January 10, 1941. Mr. Brewer's fourteen year old daughter eloped with the victim in Fort Worth, Texas. The slaying followed the first meeting between Mr. Brewer and Mr. Cox, after the marriage. The Brewers and the Cox Family live on neighboring farms in Fannin County, Texas. In the courthouse with Mr. Brewer are his wife and their four young sons. On the back row, left to right are Ross and Earl Thomas. On the front row are Roy and Lloyd. Mr. Brewer is dressed in a three piece suit. Mrs. Brewer is wearing a hat, a striped blouse, blazer, and a skirt. Ross, eleven, is wearing a button-up shirt and trousers. Thomas, thirteen, is wearing a striped button-up shirt and trousers. Roy, six, is dressed in a button-up shirt, trousers, and suspenders. Lloyd, eight, is wearing a dress shirt, trousers, and suspenders. A crowd of people are sitting in the background.
