    Description

    The 1942 Golden Gloves State Tournament is being held at Will Rogers Memorial Coliseum in Fort Worth, Texas. Two winners in the state tournament are standing shoulder to shoulder with their trophies. They are, left to right, Morris Carona and Cotton Gunter. Carona is a defensive lightweight, representing Port Arthur, Texas. Gunter is a welterweight from Dallas, Texas. Both state champs will move on to compete nationally in Chicago, Illinois. They are both wearing boxing trunks, gloves, and have robes draped over their shoulders.
