Description

The 1942 Golden Gloves State Tournament is being held at Will Rogers Memorial Coliseum in Fort Worth, Texas. Competing in the welterweight division, left to right, are Morris Carona and John Zaharieff. Carona is a defensive boxer from Port Arthur, Texas. Zaharieff is a fighter from Houston, Texas. They are shown in the third round of the battle. Carona is blocking Zaharieff's punches. The referee is standing in the background, watching the action. Carona went on to win the bout.
