Description

The 1942 Golden Gloves District Tournament is being held at Will Rogers Memorial Coliseum in Fort Worth, Texas. Preparing for the competition, left to right, are Sam Bates and Bill Anderson. Bates is a welterweight and Anderson is a light-heavyweight. Both men are among the favorites to win the district and represent Fort Worth, Texas, in the state championship. They are standing in front of a bare wall, both wearing boxing gloves and shorts.
