    Description

    Alex Cobden is the owner of Swift and Company's big packing plant. He came to Fort Worth, Texas, in 1902 to begin assembling materials for a project. Shown is a 40-year-old photograph owned by Mr. Cobden of the ground breaking for the slaughterhouse. Left to right are Charles Comstock, Jon Wilson, Charles Myer, Jack Heath, Alex Cobden, John Thompson (standing back of Cobden), William Guelich, Charles Beebe, Jim Hall (back of Beebe), and John Todd. The woman in the front is unidentified.
