Description
The High School Football State Championship game is being held at Farrington Field in Fort Worth, Texas. A crowd of 18,000 are on hand to witness the battle between the Wichita Falls Coyotes (dark jerseys) and the Temple Wildcats. Coyote quarterback Gene Hill (2) is shown with the ball in the opening quarter. He is running for an eight yard gain around the end. On the ground after throwing a block in the backfield is Charlie Hair (7). An unidentified Coyote is applying a rugged block on Temple's Jack Allen. The Coyotes went on to win the game 13-0. Seven players clearly in view and the referee in the center of the photo with a whistle in his mouth. He is dressed in a light costume with the distinctive "Y" dark lines of the ref.
