Description

The bi-district schoolboy classic is being held in Witchita Falls, Texas. Competing in the high school football game are the Lubbock Westerners (white jerseys) and the Wichita Falls Coyotes. Down by a touchdown, Coyote Gene Hill heaved a pass downfield to R. D. Smith (5). Smith is shown catching the ball in front of the Westerner defender, Franklin Butler (66). After the catch, Smith took the ball into the end zone, knotting the score at 13. Wichita Falls went on to win the game 30-13. A referee in white with the "Y" on the shirt runs behind the boys on the field. Spectators watch from the stands and the endzone. Private homes in the distance ring the field.
