Description
Captain James H. Carter, 35, is taking over command of the United States Army recreation area camp at Sycamore Park. He is replacing Major Robert W. Patterson, who was reassigned to Houston, Texas. Captain Carter will oversee the camp's completion. Once opened, it will house 500 men. Captain Carter graduated from Mississippi College in 1930 with a bachelor of science degree in chemistry and a second lieutenant's commission. He is married with two children. The family is living on their farm in Mississippi, but will soon join the Captain in Fort Worth, Texas. Captain Carter is shown standing against a wall, wearing his military uniform and a coat.
