Fort Worth's rejuvenated Little Theater aims to be everyman's theater. It hopes to be a democratic meeting ground for persons of every walk of life with a mutual love for the theater. The actors and workers behind the scenes have much to do with the success of a production. The Little Theater's second production of the season will be "First Lady", sophisticated drawing room comedy laid in Washington, D.C. with Gene Crotty directing. Director Crotty (right) watches as John McKenny and Jane Manning go through a scene. Mr. Crotty sits backwards in a chair slightly off to the side of the duo and looks on. He's holding a cigarette and a script. Mr. McKenny and Miss Manning appear to be talking with one another as they smile widely. Miss Manning is wearing a jacket and a pair of trousers while her counterpart is wearing a striped suit. Both have scripts in their hands. Behind them, there is a small crowd seated in the audience watching the practice scene. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition, November 23, 1941.
